Kristen Black Attorney At Law

Kristen Aldridge Black is an attorney who has spent her entire legal career focused on civil litigation, with the last seven focused exclusively on all areas of family law.  With a passion for helping children and families, Kristen’s focus has led to a practice of law that is concentrated not only on the client and children, but also with assisting and providing support and counsel as each client transitions into a new phase of their lives.  Whether that is divorce, a modification of a current court order, or adoptions, our team is there to provide every resource we have available to ensure you and your children are successful and prepared as you move forward.

In 2016, Kristen took and passed the Family Law Board Certification Exam.  As an attorney Board Certified in Family Law, she has earned the prestigious honor of being within a group of approximately one percent of Texas lawyers.

Due to Kristen’s focus on family law, she routinely handles complex family law matters including divorce, child custody litigation, modifications, enforcements of both child and property issues, child support, parentage, and adoptions.  Further, because of her heart for children, Kristen routinely accepts appointments to represent children caught in the turmoil of the foster system and CPS litigation.

Born and raised in central Texas, Kristen moved from the area for college and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in Political Science and with a minor in Spanish.  She then went on to the University of Houston Law Center, where she obtained her law degree in 2006, and was licensed by the State of Texas to practice law that same year.   While in law school, Kristen met her (now) husband, Garrett, a fellow law student and Houston native.   They are now the proud parents of two young boys who are the light of their lives.  They lived and worked in the Houston area for approximately ten years, before making the decision to leave the hustle and bustle of Houston, and move their careers and sons to Central Texas.

In January 2016, for the first time in her career, Kristen began her own practice, and today is so grateful to have a thriving family law practice in the heart of Georgetown.   Kristen’s welcome to Williamson County has been tremendous and a true testimony to the character and kindness of the people who live and work here.  In the brief time since she has opened her doors in the county, Kristen has been able to work with and on behalf of some incredible people, and had the privilege and opportunity to get involved with organizations not only close to her heart, but also committed to the betterment of the legal community.
